In this role as a Mortgage Home Loan Consultant, you will develop mortgage loan business sourcing loans from real estate offices, community/network sources, friends/relatives and referrals. You will meet minimum loan production requirements as set forth by management and will comply with all First Bank policies and guidelines regarding mortgage loans and act in conformance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. This position involves frequent travel to locations other than your assigned branch/location. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Meeting with perspective borrowers to obtain loan applications, explain application process, fees involved, and different programs available, etc.

  • Analyzing perspective borrowers' financial status (income and debt) by obtaining required paperwork needed for loan submission and to notify borrower of credit report/appraisals ordered to determine feasibility of making a mortgage loan

  • Submitting completed applications and confer with underwriters to aid in resolving mortgage application concerns

  • Advising borrowers of underwriting decisions, work with the borrower and underwriter ensuring all underwriting conditions are met

  • Working with both the processor and borrower, if loan is denied, about reconstructing loan under a different program

  • Coordinating loan closing, escrow signing, ordering of loan documents and assisting borrowers in the closing process

We are seeking talented individuals with the following qualifications:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • One to two years related experience and/or training

  • Comprehensive proficient PC skills and Windows based software knowledge required

  • Ability to drive a car or obtain other reliable transportation is required

  • Ability to speak, read, write and effectively interpret documents and reports

  • Self-motivated and extremely detail oriented

  • Competent math skills

  • Registration under the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) is required upon hire
