Western Digital's Client Solutions group is responsible for WD’s consumer digital media and storage solutions, including the award-winning My Cloud and SanDisk iXpand devices. Our Milpitas, California-based team is responsible for developing product roadmaps, marketing programs and partner development initiatives that helps drive the solutions business; enabling users to see and share their music, pictures, videos, and documents anywhere and anytime. Whether your screen is a mobile phone, tablet, television, or computer, it’s easy to capture and enjoy your personal content anywhere in the world. To continue delivering on our vision, we are looking for an enthusiastic Manager or Sr. Manager to join our Business Development team with a focus on prospecting, developing and nurturing Premium Content creation, and aggregation as well as distribution partnerships.


  • Systematically build stronger business & innovation engagements with key market innovators: ensuring the exciting end products of tomorrow will be partnered with WD solutions today

  • Identify market leaders in new emerging markets and drive a related engagement strategy: help those market leaders succeed by working with WD

  • Actively work with our product marketing and product management teams. Accomplish your mission while enhancing our sales teams relationships and credibility

  • Build strategic relationships where none exist - especially in the startup communities, and with the innovation business units of larger accounts

  • Seek out high value unsolved customer problems: Implement existing solutions where possible

  • Drive new products and innovation programs (internal and external) that will take WD into the future

  • Act as a project manager / start up CEO during the initial phases of innovation project engagements - and get it done

  • Share insights and key learnings with executives and Business Unit leaders

  • Travel for business up to 25% of the time

Skills & Qualifications:

  • A fundamental interest and curiosity about new technology

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in strategic business development or technical marketing

  • Experience in growing key accounts or growing a technology business

  • Strong sales and presentation capabilities; able to build interest and credibility with a customer

  • Excellent systems understanding; capable of understanding core problems

  • Strong experience in forming and developing partnerships

  • Ability to understand technical concepts
