What you’ll be doing…

Would you like to work on one of the most disruptive products in the Business Intelligence industry? Are you excited about helping people to see and understand their data? We are looking for an experienced Web Developer to join our team in bringing the power of Tableau Desktop to the Web as part of our journey towards cloud and at-scale enterprise deployment. The team’s main focus is to enable people to connect to, prepare, and organize data for analysis and visualization in Tableau. We're looking for a person who shares our belief that the best product is simple, beautiful, and easy to use - and that our customers deserve the absolute best experience using our products. As a Staff or Principal Software Engineer, you will play a key role in in bringing Tableau functionality to the Web.

  • Designing and developing web interface for Tableau products

  • Providing technical guidance and support to a vibrant engineering team

  • Collaborating with developers and test engineers across the company

  • Making key decisions for product architecture, product strategy, and engineering practices

Who you are… *LI-EM1

  • Experienced. You have 10+ years of experience designing complex solutions, developing commercial software, working on world class user interface for web and desktop. You know what it takes to build enterprise-ready software. You have provided technical leadership to an engineering team for 3 or more years.

  • Technical . Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. You have a solid technical foundation, established through learning, experience, and mastery of various technologies and methodologies. You are an OOP expert with excellent grasp of at least one object-oriented language such as C#, C++, or Java. You have understanding of web server architecture, and are fluent in JavaScript and CSS. Familiarity in with React, TypeScript, or Saltarelle is a plus.

  • Customer-focused. You have a habit of thinking from customer’s perspective. The overall user experience of a product is important to you. You are eager to help with identifying and solving existing or potential problems our customers might encounter in the field.

  • Relentlessly High Standards. You love building great products. You are passionate about maintaining high code quality. You help teams to adopt great engineering practices. You are able to identify areas for improvement and work on bringing about positive change over time.
