SUMMARY OF ROLE

SunPower is seeking an experienced, self-motivated engineer to be part of Modules research and development group. As part of the team, he/she will be responsible for developing next generation module technologies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Test, develop, and qualify new module materials for the next generation module design

  • Conceive and develop new test equipment to evaluate new module designs for performance, reliability, and installation

  • Aggregate, analyze and present results

  • Conduct design and technical reviews

  • Collaborate with a dynamic cross functional team to prioritize and attack critical problems with creative solutions

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of industrial experience in PV research organization

  • Knowledge of current PV module materials, processing, and reliability

  • Min Bachelor in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

  • Proven record of ability to solve problems in PV module process

  • Hands on work experience in lab environment; able to set up new experiments and new tools

  • Self-starter, comfortable with owning and driving development projects

  • Strong communication skills – both written and verbal

  • Strong customer focused attitude

OTHER PERTINENT INFORMATION

  • Must be willing and able to travel, both domestic and international, up to 25%
