Researches attempted efforts to compromise security protocols. Maintains security systems for routers and switches. Administers security policies to control access to systems. Maintains the company s firewall. Uses applicable encryption methods. Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information.

Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Prefer 8 years relevant experience and BA/BS degree.

Oracle's Global IT Team - Sr Security Analyst

The Principal IT Security Engineer is a member of the Global IT Technical Security Services team that is responsible for ensuring security is properly designed and implemented in the services provided by Global Information Technology (GIT), as well as the broader Customer Services organization.

This position will be a contributor for key technical programs and projects related to the deployment of services, processes, and tools used by GIT Risk Management for meeting its charter and objectives, as well as effectively managing security risks in the solutions and services provided by GIT overall.

Additionally, the Principal IT Security Engineer will assist by providing security and risk management consulting to other GIT and Customer Services organizations.

Within the Global IT Technical Security Services team, you will join a fast-paced organization responsible for keeping Oracle s employees, data, and assets safe. As a member of this high performing team, you will maintain a rigorous connection to and understanding of the evolution of security tools in the industry in order to provide recommendations on their potential role in keeping Oracle secure. You will offer consulting expertise and engage actively in deploying our next-generation of information security solutions.

Further, you will drive deep technical security assessments of proposed initiatives from IT peers across the company. Finally, you will run processes related to information security risk management, conduct technical assessments across end user services, enterprise networks, cloud environments, and define, document, maintain, and communicate security services for enterprise programs.

The Principal IT Security Engineer supports a collaborative and effective business imperative vs. security debate with internal partners that provides guidance on HOW vs. just saying NO.

This role requires the business skills necessary to appreciate the big picture challenges, and involves discussing prudent risk management with Oracle s senior executives to effectively ensure risks are actively mitigated to an acceptable level. This position will help influence risk for not only internal IT projects, but for projects driven by our internal lines of business, including those directly affecting Oracle s customers.

Skills

Understanding of information security risk management concepts, frameworks and industry standards.

Experience designing and implementing innovative technical security solutions, processes and services is necessary.

Experience in large organizations interfacing with various governance and customer organizations is a must.

Candidate should be very comfortable developing technical strategies to address the needs of very diverse set of internal and external set of customers.

Candidate should have experience interfacing with executives across a large information technology organization, interfacing with multiple oversight organizations and collaborating across organizations to achieve goals and objectives.

Knowledge of international regulations and requirements related to information security risk management.

Broad technical background in infrastructure and applications especially Oracle components with the acumen and ability to interpret technical specs and architect solutions.

Deep security technical knowledge of and administration experience, considering security options and tradeoffs, etc.

Business savvy including the ability to see the big picture and the ability to effectively influence others.

Excellent communication skills, analytical capability, judgment, self-driven, multi-tasking, proactivity, and willingness to adapt to change in dynamic, global environment are critical.

Qualifications

10 years IT experience which includes server computing, information security, and other infrastructure IT areas

5 years of IT Security experience across multiple hardware platforms, technologies, OS s, software, and applications

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification must be in hand or in progress

Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) certifications are a plus
