JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Mobile Union Maintenance Engineer, to provide services within our clients’ various facilities. Must be a self-starter with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.

RESPONSIBILITY LEVEL

Works under general direction where the company has contracted to perform building operations at a designated Operations & Maintenance (O&M) location. With assistance, ensures optimum, efficient operations of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, and heat generating equipment in a data center environment.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES

  1. Observe and interpret readings on gauges, meters, and charts that record various aspects of the system’s operations at specified intervals to verify operating conditions.

  2. Adjust controls to ensure safe and efficient operation of the system to meet the demands for the specified service.

  3. Perform inspections as necessary to verify that the designated facilities are functioning within condition limits for the purpose intended.

  4. Conduct water tests and make necessary adjustments to pumps, softeners, and controllers.

  5. Maintain a log in which various aspects of the system’s operation are recorded, e.g., run time, system pressure, filter differential pressure, temperature, equipment status, water levels, voltage load, and generator balance.

  6. Keep designated equipment and machinery in working order by performing such tasks as tightening fittings, repacking bearings, replacing packing glands, gaskets, valves, recorders and gauges, and cleaning and replacing components, using hand tools and power tools.

  7. May provide work direction or assistance to others who perform tasks related to operating and maintaining equipment and systems.

  8. Ability to operate computer control system to accomplish specific tasks relating to building and equipment operation.

  9. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  10. Implements ongoing building energy conservation inspections and programs. Documents quality, researches alternatives and initiates corrective action where required.

  11. Perform any related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Normal local licensing requirement for Facilities Engineer performing HVAC work.

  2. 3+ years of experience as a Facilities Engineer.

  3. Knowledge of engineering fundamentals necessary for effective and safe operation of complex electrical and mechanical building equipment and systems.

  4. Capable of effectively representing CBRE to our customers.

  5. Working knowledge of personal computers.

  6. Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.

  7. Ability to off shift, holidays, and weekends as required.

  8. Valid Driver License and clean driving record.

SKILLS NEEDED:

  1. Knowledge of domestic heating and cooling systems

  2. Plumbing repairs

  3. Motor replacement

  4. Fire life safety systems operations/maintenance

  5. MCC troubleshooting

  6. HVAC maintenance and repairs: chillers, fan coils, vav boxes, cooling towers

  7. CMMS knowledge/familiarity( computer maintenance management system)

  8. Chiller plant operations

  9. Certified as a type universal technician as required by 40cfr part 82 subpart f

  10. Positive attitude and professional relations with clients.
