Nutanix Payroll Accountant in San Jose, California

We are looking for a Payroll Accountant to join our Accounting team. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll, but also be able to assist with other accounting functions.

  • Assist with processing semi-monthly payroll for 1500+ US multi-state employees through Workday and ADP

  • Assist with processing monthly and semi-monthly payroll for select international employees

  • Assist with processing of stock related payrolls

  • Review new hires entered into Workday by HR for accuracy and proper pay based on offer letter (i.e. pay rates, phone allowance)

  • Process and review electronic timecards

  • Process off-cycle manual checks and adjustments as required

  • Liaise with HR to manage employee records and various employment events

  • Respond to various payroll inquiries in a timely and professional manner

  • Prepare Payroll related journal entries and account reconciliations

  • Review and process employee expense reports through Expensify

  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at manager’s discretion

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  • Three or more years payroll experience

  • Working knowledge of payroll tax laws, IRS and state guidelines and regulations

  • Intermediate level Excel skills

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills also required
