About the Job

The Luna Engineering group is growing and is looking for strong technical leader to help to drive product design and development for the Identity and Access Management Systems. You will work with engineering leaders, product management and other teams to create new applications for the Luna Control Center portal. The position requires a high degree of creativity and methodology to align business requirements to system and technical requirements using best practices, design patterns and existing assets.

About the Team

Luna is Akamai’s face to our users on the Web. It provides a full range of tools, including analytics, configuration management, web services, training, support, and billing for our customers to manage their accounts online. The Luna team is responsible for the software infrastructure, development, look and feel and technical evolution of the Luna Control Center.

Responsibilities

● Understand product requirements and how to fulfill them within the Akamai assets.

● Design high-level architecture design documents for applications within Luna platform.

● Work with cross-functional teams in Engineering, Product Management and User Experience.

● Lead design discussions and develop software that enriches the product feature set while maintaining robustness, scalability, fault-tolerance and security.

● Advocate best practices for the software development life cycle and use your experience to mentor others.

● Establish technical direction and design for product development from the engineering perspective.

● Provide technical leadership across engineering to ensure product development is smooth, evolving design as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

  • Overall experience: 10+ years of software development experience.

  • 5+ years of experience with the complete software development process.

  • 5+ years experience in large-scale, highly-available enterprise software solutions (e.g., J2EE).

Desired Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience in cloud based systems.

  • Good understanding of Identity Lifecycle, SSO, & authentication models.

  • Experience with cross-platform, multi-browser web page development.

  • Highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-starting, motivational, creative, and confident.

  • Experience with scrum or other agile methodologies.
