Oracle QA Automation Engineer in Sunnyvale, California

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Job Summary:

Oracle Dyn is seeking a talented QA Engineer to become part of a fast paced world class software engineering team. This person will join a team of engineers in the development of new product and platform integrations written in multiple programming languages. In addition, responsibilities include the development, implementation, and execution of test plans, verification of tests, and the development of support tools for distributed multi-tiered Linux based applications.

Duties:

  • Developing automated test runners for unit, functional, performance, and load test suites across GUI, API, and command-line interfaces

  • Assisting in the definition of verification methods and configurations for product testing

  • Defining, updating, and executing test cases and plans for full stack(API, Database and UI)

  • Participate in the improvement of the continuous integration and deployment strategies and pipeline

  • Operating effectively and with a sense of urgency to meet deadlines and escalate issues appropriately

  • Working with other members of cross-functional teams and Product Managers to deliver quality test plans in a timely fashion, that meet defined needs.

  • Consistently exercising independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance

  • Taking ownership of creating a test strategy that takes the software design, complexity, and other factors into account to clarify the major tasks and challenges of the test project.

  • Tracking, and providing status on verification test efforts

Skills:

  • Flexible, resourceful, team player that is able to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.Scripting development experience on Linux/UNIX (Python, Expect, Cucumber Groovy)

  • Hands on experience with automated tools such as Selenium

  • Detail-oriented, extremely organized, and have exceptional written and communication skills

  • Experience with object-oriented programing

  • Familiarity with REST or SOAP APIs and Services

  • Knowledge and understanding of Agile/SCRUM.

  • Ability to execute and deliver a quality product with tight guidelines and schedules.

Additional skills:

  • Working knowledge of Agile and Scrum

  • Experience testing high performance interfaces

  • Familiarity testing for positive user experience (UX) patterns

  • Working knowledge of containers

Education:

  • Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent in work experience and self-study.

  • Advanced degree is a plus.
