About the Role:
The Platform Product Management team is charted to manage the eCommerce Platform and Checkout of the Consumer Business Unit with over $2B in revenue per year. As a Product Owner, you will be a member of an agile team serving as the voice of the customer. You will work with Product Managers and stakeholders including other product owners, developers, QA testers, designers and operation engineers to define and prioritize the team backlog. You are a representative of the end customer first, as well as represent business stakeholders to your scrum team of development and quality assurance members. You will define a backlog of features, upgrades and enhancements to our eCommerce technology stack ensuring delivery and sustainment of our platform. You will also be responsible for making sure that corporate and business unit priorities are adhered to. The scope of your work will be global in nature, with a mixture of frontend and backend delivery.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in eCommerce, web services and application definition, and who is very comfortable with technical details. The best ideas in the world are nothing if they are not executable, so our ideal candidate has a bias toward execution. You should be a doer, and you should have demonstrable agile experience as a product owner under your belt. Extra credit if you have experience with payments integration, user experience of an eCommerce checkout, or technology enhancements / upgrades. The Platform Team is looking for someone to join our ranks who is ready to roll up their sleeves to take ownership and do the hard things required.
With input from the product manager and other stakeholders, the product owner builds, prunes, and maintains a backlog primarily consisting of user stories and defects. Backlog items are prioritized based on user value, time dependencies, risk reduction and effort. The product owner is primarily responsible for the on-going process of writing and prioritizing user stories. The product owner also reviews and re-prioritizes the backlog as part of the preparatory work for longer term release planning, including coordination of any dependencies with other product owners. The product owner is the main source for user story detail and priorities, and has the responsibility to accept stories at the end of sprint. The Product Owner participates as a proactive member of the eCommerce Platform team. He/she will contribute continually to the product vision and participate in roadmap backlog refinement and planning preparation.
The Product Owner will work with a cross-functional team of UI developers, architects, designers and QA testers to develop and break down requirement/user stories into executable chunks. You will champion the user experience end-to-end by working closely with interaction and visual designers; ensure that the site is intuitive, mobile-first and designed with the future in mind. This product owner role will maintain and deliver the backlog for the Norton eCommerce checkout and Store Management system.
