NonStop SQL Database Developer

Job Description:

Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs, and modifies code for the NonStop SQL/MX product. The role will also require some interacting with other products in the NonStop product stack to implement complex features as well as understanding, designing, implementing and debugging. Completing documentation will be required. In this role the candidate will have ongoing interactions with the local US team but will also interact with teams located in other Geos such as India. The job also requires working with closely with Support, Field engineers and possibly customers to analyze and develop fixes for issues at customer sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Work in a cohesive team consisting of both internal development/QA engineers from the US and India.

  • Review and evaluate designs and project activities for compliance with product design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.

  • Develop and provide domain-specific expertise and overall leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.

  • Drive innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software applications design organization.

  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members.

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent.

  • 10+ years experience in software implementation and design with an emphasis on database programing.

  • Strong understanding of system level architecture and implementation with performance in mind.

Especially helpful would be NonStop system software product stack experience and knowledge.

Also especially helpful would be NonStop SQL/MX database programming experience.

  • Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

  • Strong understanding of system level architecture and coding with performance in mind.

  • Ability and Experience working with remote teams

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language.

  • Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.

  • Must have competencies include:

  • C / C++ languages
