Google Program Manager - Nest Field Trials in Palo Alto, California

Nest’s Field Trial team is looking for a strong Program Manager to manage all aspects of the Nest Thermostat Field Trial programs (Beta testing). You will play a key role in developing test requirements, managing cross-functional communication, creating and driving the overall FT schedule, identifying and mitigating risk at all stages, and delivering actionable feedback and bug reports that contribute to major product decisions to ultimately ship high-quality products.

The work:

  • Own all aspects of Nest Thermostat Field Trial programs including test definition, recruiting, population management, reporting, and continually identifying methods to improve quantity and quality of tester feedback

  • Manage, track, prioritize bugs, and general product improvements

  • Set criteria and execute the recruiting of internal and external testers for a given program

  • Communicate program status, risks and next steps to internal stakeholder teams

  • Manage multiple FT programs around the world simultaneously, including new HW programs, SW updates, app releases and expansion programs

Minimun qualifications:

  • BA BS degree or equivalent experience

  • 2+ years in Program Management

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong project program management skills

  • Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions

  • Self-starter with the ability to work as individual contributor and to contribute as part of a larger team

  • Deadline and detail-oriented

  • Exceptional problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills

  • Excellent multi-tasker

  • Proven ability to work as part of a fast-paced team

  • Experience with survey creation and other methods to obtain user feedback about the product experience

  • Consumer electronics industry experience

  • Project Program Management Certification

  • Proficient with data querying and visualization tools (e.g., SQL,Tableau)

  • The ideal candidate must have a positive, can-do attitude with a desire to do what it takes to contribute to the overall success of a program
