The Cisco Kinetic IoT platform enables companies to extract data from a variety of sources, transform and transmit that data, and reliably deliver it to realize business outcomes. The Cisco Kinetic platform leverages Cisco’s expertise in security to programmatically ensure the right data is delivered to the right application at the right time, across multiple clouds and locations, with policies to ensure data ownership, privacy, and security.

The Kinetic Cloud Enablement group is responsible for the development and operation of the cloud environment powering all Cisco Kinetic hosted IoT products. Our team of cloud engineers works to design, develop, secure, automate, and operate application infrastructure in a variety of public and private clouds, providing the engineering group a consist platform atop which they deploy IoT application components.

Role & Responsibilities

In this role you will work in an Agile-based work environment as part of an operations team tasked to test, integrate, deploy and operate cloud services in a production environment, including but not limited to the following responsibilities:

• Partner with Development team for integration and deployment of new cloud services and features into a production 3rd party cloud IaaS platform (AWS, Azure, etc.)

• Collaborate with other Cisco team members, partners, and the open source community to advance the state of the platform

• Deploy and operate development and production environments

• Perform integration, system scale, and performance testing

• Build and operate operational and deployment tools as well as infrastructure-level services

Minimum Qualifications

• 2+ years experience working in an Agile development environment

• 6+ years experience in cloud computing and/or the development of SaaS/IaaS/PaaS applications

• BS/CS or equivalent degree plus 6+ years of experience in a cloud production environment

Technical Requirements:

• Expert with 1 or more cloud infrastructures (AWS, Openstack, Azure, GCE, Bluemix, etc)

• Experience using and developing container based solutions (Docker, rkt, etc)

• Experience automating cloud deployments (Terraform, CloudFormation, boto, or equivalent)

• Experience with one or more modern scripting languages (python, ruby), Go a plus

• Expertise with one or more configuration management frameworks (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc)

• 6+ years administering linux systems

• In-depth understanding of DevOps CI/CD processes, exposure to Jenkins as well as testing frameworks

• Log, track and escalate issues and drive them to resolution with verification of bug fixes, document test results and research findings

• Lead the design, development, and testing of integration testing of application workflows in a cloud environment

• Plan and execute end-to-end performance / scale tests of cloud infrastructure and applications

• Validate large-scale application workflows comprised of multiple application pools in a cloud architecture

Skills and experience to include most of the following:

• Experience with a container orchestration system (Kubernetes, Mesos, ECS, etc)

• Experience with monitoring solutions such as CloudWatch, InfluxDB, ELK, Splunk, Nagios, Ganglia, Zenoss, etc

• Familiarity with cloud computing concepts including virtualization, web services API's, elastic infrastructure, distributed data storage (database, block, object), multi-tenancy, and metered usage patterns

• Expert with cloud networking concepts

• Ideal candidate will be able to quickly ramp up on new technologies outside of comfort zone and think at scale

• Candidates must possess excellent team and people skills and should be comfortable working in geographically dispersed teams

• Candidates should be able to use problem solving techniques to identify, scope, and resolve difficult, intermittent, and other technical issues at scale

• Experience working in an Agile environment preferred (Rally, Jira,)
