Agilent Technologies’ Life Sciences and Applied Markets Group(LSAG) is a leading provider of analytical and chemical instrument systems to pharmaceutical, environmental, research, and other technology companies.

Your role will be part of the software test team helping to evaluate our market leading MassHunter Data Analysis Software Products for GC and LC mass spectrometers. You will work side by side with the R&D; SW development team and you will be part of a group of chemists, biologists and other scientists who define and execute the test process for software releases.

The successful candidate will be a self-motivated problem-solver with the ability to deliver results quickly. Here is what you will be measured on:

  • Collaborating with software R&D; and test engineers to determine the best ways to test their software products

  • Creating validation system tests by documenting common customer workflows in partnership with R&D;

  • Familiarity with mass spectrometry applications in the chemical analysis, pharmaceutical, environmental, food testing and academic research markets

  • Working in an agile development environment testing iteratively against newly developed code until quality is achieved from an end customer's perspective

  • Creating manual and automated tests to test the data analysis applications

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • MS in life science related field (preferably Chemistry, Biology or Biochemistry)

  • Or BS with 4+ years of experience

  • Experience with testing of analytical instrumentation software

  • Previous experience with Agilent products or mass spectrometers

  • Familiarity with the agile software development environment tools like Version One and JIRA, and their use in software testing

  • Familiarity with automated software test solutions

  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills

  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with both local and remote colleagues
