Job Duties:

  • Serve as a software engineer to the Inventory Management team of Walmart Global eCommerce.

  • Work with a team of application engineers, architect and product visionaries to design, prototype and build technology-driven products that will serve the current and future needs of ecommerce.

  • Follow guidance, learn quickly, and start taking ownership of tasks.

  • Quickly learn tools, languages and frameworks used by the team.

  • Proactively learn key processes, relationships, and underlying business requirements.

  • Work on core Java, J2EE, relational database (e.g. Oracle), non-relational database (e.g. Cassandra), and IBM Sterling fulfillment product technologies to design and develop high-performance and scalable applications.

  • Primarily responsible for delivering high quality technical designs and code for the product requirements in a fast paced agile scrum sprints.

  • Develop solution prototype and be able to demonstrate value proposition of the solutions to a wide audience.

  • Job duties include build, deployment and continuous integration processes to move the code and configurations from local development environments to QA & Production environments. Drive production deployments using platform's automated CI and deployment tools.

  • Work closely with engineering partners at Walmart India Development Center.

  • Ensure stability, health and up-time of lower environments through continuous process improvement.

  • Work with quality engineers (QE) for application testing and automation internally and with other interfacing systems.

  • Work as Level 3 production support engineer on a rotation-basis to help Level 2 production support team for any production issue where engineering help is required. Provide support in troubleshooting / investigations pertaining to the inventory management systems.

  • Responsible for production environment health as first priority, enabling automated monitoring and alerting and ensuring close to 100% uptime.

  • Support Business requests for investigation and analysis.

  • Research technology trends and apply the results to solve business problems

Skills required:

  • Business process and domain knowledge in Supply Chain Management & Inventory Management specifically in context of ecommerce business landscape.

  • Experience with IBM (Sterling) Supply Chain Fulfillment Suite, Distributed Order Management & Global Inventory Visibility.

  • Hands-on experience on customization/extension of Sterling Commerce APIs, database, UIs, user exits, agents and building Web Services.

  • Knowledge of Sterling Configuration Deployment Toolkit (Sterling CDT). Strong hand-on experience of the Java programming language.

  • Knowledge of J2EE and Web service technologies, RDBMS, and NoSQL.

  • Experience with analyzing and designing data model.

  • Expertise in object-oriented design and implementation, developing high-performance, reusable components

  • Thorough knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture and experience implementing RESTFUL Web Services.

  • Experience building large scale and distributed software applications

  • Knowledge of relational database for the web environment.

  • Experience in at least one application server: Apache or JBoss.

  • Use of version control management like SVN, CVS, or GIT Hub.

  • Experience with build and deployment processes

  • Experience with continuous delivery environments and agile methodologies
